Penick Park

Every time I think I've gotten around to all the parks near my house, it seems like I find another one. Such is the case with Penick Park. Olivia and I were going for a bike ride the other night and drove right past it. It's a little over a mile from our house, and looked really cute. So when we got up Friday morning to some fabulous weather for the first time in days, we had to go for another "adventure". We loaded the little ones into the bike trailer, and Olivia and I set off for Penick Park!

By far Connor's favorite piece of playground equipment is the swing!

The girls weren't that impressed with the actual playground equipment. These slides don't really compare to our rocket slides!

There was, however, this really quaint bridge spanning a little rock creek in the middle of the park.
Note the hat hanging off the front of the bike. We had to cover the reflector...
Connor loved it, though. He's still not walking independently, but could cruise along the edge of this for hours!
My little Miss Sunshine! We were trying to get Connor to crawl into the tube, but he'd start crying and trying to get down every time. I think I've traumatized him by taking him down the rocket slides last time we were there. He wouldn't get on the play set at all this time!
The greatest find at this park was the tree. We had an amazing storm the other night, which blew limbs down all over town. This poor tree, however, lost more than a limb!

When the trunk fell, it bridged the rock creek. Olivia wanted to try to climb across to the other side.

Success!
Then Kelsey had to try.

This is about where she saw the black ant, freaked out, and had to turn around and come back!
What a great morning!

So fun! I remember I loved crawling over downed tree limbs when I was their age. :)

Connor will be taking off any day now, it seems!

I'm glad you guys had a fun new adventure!
